The entry level market is about to get a good shake thanks to the new one Snapdragon 215, chipset weblog Qualcomm which aims to offer improved performance for cheap devices (even for less than 100 dollars). Let's find out what's new with the US company and what we can expect from the new SoC.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 official: everything you need to know about the new chipset for the medium-low range
Il Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 is a chipset designed to meet the needs of smartphones between the 60 and the 130 dollars and - according to what the company says - it promises improved performance of 50% compared to its predecessor. Based on architecture a 64 bit and core ARM Cortex-A53, the SoC has a whole series of improvements, such as support for displays in 19:9 and resolution HD + (1560 x 720 pixel). Given the growing interest of users in smartphone photography, the Snapdragon 215 is the first model in the series to introduce a dual ISP; the inevitable support to double cameras, complete with optical zoom and bokeh.
Furthermore, Qualcomm has introduced a new one DSP (Digital Signal Processor) Hexagon, to improve the audio reproduction and the processing capacity of the sensors. On board we find the GPU Adreno 308 (able to support up to 10 hours of video playback), one module NFC, dual YES e Dual VoLTE (thanks to the Snapdragon X5 modem, Cat. 4).
The Snapdragon 215 will be officially available to manufacturers over the next few months and we are curious to find out what will be the first ultra-economical model to introduce the new chipset.
