Amazon and Google: peace breaks out, users win

YouTube returns to Fire TV and Amazon Prime Video opens at Google Chromecast

It had been clear for several months that Amazon and Google intended to bury the hatchet and open up to the compatibility of their platforms. By doing so, users of Google Chromecast will be able to enjoy the streaming - on their own TVs - of Amazon Prime Video. At the same time, let's see how YouTube is available on Amazon Fire TV Stick.

As we know, both companies have launched several devices over the years, so let's see the respective compatibility:

  • YouTube open to compatibility with: Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen), Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube and Fire Tv Stick Basic Edition and - unlike the web mode - the app can also be controlled through Alexa, while it will not be included (at least for now) Echo Show;
  • Amazon Prime Video can instead be used with the mirroring from devices Android ed iOS on chromecast and - from today - it will be possible to access the video streaming platform also on Android TV.

Definitely an epochal turning point that will make users of both devices happy who - finally - will get at least complete compatibility from this point of view.
